
The Kentucky Wildcats represent the men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic teams of the University of Kentucky (UK), which is a founding member of the Southeastern Conference. The student body of the University of Kentucky is known as the Kentucky Wildcats, with a total enrollment of 30,473 students. While historically the women’s teams were called the “Lady Kats,” in 1995, all athletic squads adopted the “Wildcats” nickname. Fans of the Kentucky Wildcats are collectively known as the Big Blue Nation.
